Celebrating Ravidas Jayanti
At the Sant Guru Ravidas Janmasthali temple near BHU, the Prime Minister
inaugurated the recently installed 25 feet bronze statue of Sant Ravidas in the adjacent Ravidas Park. Additionally, he marked the commencement of development projects valued at approximately Rs 32 crore around Sant Ravidas Janmasthali. Furthermore,
the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the Sant Ravidas Museum and the beautification of the park, collectively valued at around Rs 62 crore. This momentous occasion not only honors Sant Ravidas’s legacy but also signifies a commitment to the holistic development of the revered site.

Enhancing Varanasi’s Road Network
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several
road projects aimed at improving connectivity in Varanasi. These projects include the four-laning of the Ghargra-Bridge-Varanasi section of NH-233, the Sultanpur- Varanasi section of NH-56 (Package-1), the Phase-1 six-laning of the Varanasi- Aurangabad section of NH-19, the Varanasi-Hanumana section of NH-35 (Package-1), and a Railway Overbridge (ROB) on the Varanasi-Jaunpur rail section near Babatpur.
Boosting Industrial Development
In an effort to stimulate industrial growth, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated significant initiatives such as an LPG Bottling Plant by HPCL in Sewapuri and the Banas Kashi Sankul milk processing unit in UPSIDA Agro Park Karkhiyaon. Additionally, various infrastructure works were commenced at UPSIDA Agro Park, Karkhiyaon, to further support industrial activities in the area.
Advancing Urban Infrastructure
Various urban development projects were unveiled by the Prime Minister, including the establishment of an Urban Waste to Charcoal Plant by NTPC at Ramana, the
upgradation of the water supply network in the Sis-Varuna area, and the online effluent monitoring and SCADA automation of Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) and Sewerage Pumping Stations. The foundation stone was also laid for multiple projects aimed at beautifying Varanasi, including the rejuvenation of ponds and parks, and the design and development of a 3-D Urban Digital map and database.
Promoting Tourism and Spiritual Heritage
Several projects aimed at boosting tourism and preserving spiritual heritage were inaugurated, including the redevelopment of public facilities at five Padavs of Panchkoshi Parikrama Marg and Pavan Path with ten spiritual yatra, the launch of electric catamaran vessels provided by the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) for Varanasi & Ayodhya, and the establishment of seven change rooms floating jetties and four community iotties.
Empowering Varanasi’s Textile Sector and Healthcare
Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for the National Institute of Fashion
Technology (NIFT) in Varanasi to strengthen the textile sector and initiated the establishment of a new Medical College to enhance healthcare services. Additionally, the foundation stone for the National Centre of Ageing at BHU was laid, alongside the inauguration of sports infrastructure including the Sigra Sports Stadium Phase-1 and the District Rifle Shooting Range.
