The online lecture session on "Research Methods Qualitative and Quantitative," hosted by The Discourse, aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of different research methodologies. Assistant professor Simran Seth Ma'am, an esteemed scholar with extensive experience in the field, delivered an enlightening presentation.

The session began with an introduction to The Discourse, emphasizing its commitment to fostering meaningful conversations and intellectual growth among students.

Further Simran Seth Ma'am was introduced, highlighting her academic achievements and expertise in the subject matter.

Later on, the session focused on the fundamentals of research methods, covering both qualitative and quantitative approaches.

Moving forward, Ma'am delivered an excellent PowerPoint presentation, covering various aspects of research methods and providing practical examples to illustrate

key concepts.

Participants were encouraged to engage with the material presented and to ask questions during the dedicated Q&A segment.

# IRAN Vs ISRAEL: Conflicts and it's implications 

The Discourse Society, BHU, hosted an engaging online seminar on the Israel-Iran conflict, featuring Ms. Richa Singh, a research scholar from the Faculty of Commerce, BHU. The session offered a closer look at the rising tensions between Israel and Iran, exploring their global impact on geopolitics, the economy, and security, along with India’s role and response.

The session opened with a brief yet insightful overview of the historical background of the Israel-Iran relationship, helping participants understand how their ties shifted from early cooperation to present-day hostility.

A major highlight of the discussion was the changing geopolitical landscape. The speaker pointed out how Israel is building stronger ties with Gulf countries, while Iran is aligning more with Russia and China. Proxy groups like Hamas and Hezbollah were also discussed as key players fueling unrest in the region.

The session also touched on the economic impact, especially how the conflict affects global oil prices. With rising tensions near the Strait of Hormuz—a vital route for oil shipping—markets have become increasingly unstable, which directly affects countries like India, China, and those in the EU.

A key focus was India’s diplomatic balancing act. The discussion highlighted India’s energy relations with Iran, its defense and tech ties with Israel, and strategic investments like the Chabahar port. India faces the ongoing challenge of navigating global power dynamics while protecting its national interests.

The session wrapped up with an invitation to participants to look beyond headlines and explore the deeper realities of international conflicts. The Israel-Iran issue was seen not just as a regional matter but one with wide-reaching consequences that affect us all.
